Edition judged: Bartizan 2003

This edition of Bartizan is simply beautiful from its colorful cover to back endsheet. Use of its clever theme, “FC,” truly captures the spirit of student life in this school at this time. Theme copy is filled with appropriate details, creatively incorporates the FC notion, and throughout reflects specifics about the year. Writing in this book—including captions—is interesting, filled with student quotes and admirable detail. Photography is bright, colorful, and content focuses on the action of the experience.

Additional notations that set this book apart from others include packaging that reflects the basics of scholastic yearbook design combined with contemporary graphics and typography trends, intriguing features in the people and ads sections, a personalized “Flashback” of the year’s major events that adds special interest to the index, multiple student photo quotes in each section, and absolute attention to detail from cover to cover. Simply put, this is a top quality student publication that can serve as a model for others to emulate.

Congratulations to the staffers and adviser of the “FC” 2003 yearbook. It truly reflects an exciting year and a job well done.
