adviser share $6000 in scholarships |

Amber
McGowan, a senior at Franklin Community High School, was the
big winner in IHSPA's scholarship program which awarded $6,000
to five students and one teacher.
McGowen, who will attend Franklin College in the fall, was
awarded a $1,500 renewable "Undergraduate Scholarship."
McGowen currently is editor-in-chief of her high school newspaper,
The Electron.
Four Franklin College journalism majors received scholarship
renewals. Each student originally won their scholarships as
incoming freshmen. |

Sarah
Miller, Ryan Moore, Kyle Gorman and Marina Hennessy received $1,000
scholarships for their work on student publications at FC.
Jolie Lindley,
newspaper adviser at Jeffersonville High School, was awarded a $500
Master Teacher scholarship to pursue graduate work at Indiana University
this summer. Lindley is working on a "self help" book
for beginning publications advisers.
