Zionsville High School
Publication Name: The Harbinger
Adviser: Lori Wilkin
Editor: Lindsay Klaunig
Judge’s edited issue: Vol. 5 • No. 2

Positive Comments:

• Love your covers – as a magazine, covers reflect what you are trying to do. However, I would not put teasers on your cover (Also in this issue, etc. – they distract readers).
•Good Clubs – shows what various clubs are doing and great way to get them all in your publication.
•Nice timeline on Tension in Iraq – would have been better had you followed up with quotes from students – your goal is to bring every story to your local angle – students.
•Nice, clean pages – good internal margins and layouts
•Score card is effective – gives a good look at all sports
•Loved the headline Lions, Tigers and a Camel Named Clyde – good story, too
•Nice calendar on Page 16 – but I would recommend running it horizontally – never good to make reader turn the page to read an article.

Constructive criticism comments:
•Table of contents – make it plain and simple – no indents. Just straight down the line contents and find another page for staff listing. Table of Contents should include only what’s in the issue.
•It looks like you were attempting a double truck on the Junction article – run the head across both pages to indicate that.
•Put opinion pages after news pages.
