Positive comments:
• Very clean pages, good dominant on Page 1
• Nice mix of headlines – hitting the books, Food for thought, Service with a smile
• Good use of pull quotes and color
• Interesting Word of Mouth teaser down the side of Page 1 – but how do you know students are talking about these items – need a source or way you determined this
• Nice teaser across the top, but you might want to display school name, paper name a little more prominently – get rid of weather report. People can get hat from local paper or TV – by the time you come out, weather is obsolete
• Page 2 – nice dominant story and photo – secondary story on choir has too many photos
• Good Side Notes
• Nice to see staff editorial that feeds off Page 1 story (Silent Reading)
• Nice lead on Beyond words story, good graphic on sign language
• Liked the Sportshorts down side of Page 7.

• Not much in the way of reviews – something most high school students like to read

Judge’s comments: A truly nice paper to read – clean, focused. Work in a little more club news (i.e., drama club, choir, foreign language)
